Sarah Jutras—Founder
Marnie Chang—Collage Artist

TEAM:

Freelance For Life is an online resource for creatives (and aspiring creatives) navigating their own career paths. Founded by Sarah, it offers grounded, human-centered guidance drawn from lived experience, with courses, articles, and templates designed to support a more sustainable, self-defined way of working. The need was for a visual system that could express the brand’s aspirational qualities while remaining approachable and grounded.

Foundational assets extend across her physical and digital spaces, helping the brand show up consistently while supporting growing engagement from increased workshop participation to opportunities like co-hosting an event at SF Design Week with Fellow.

The image displays the phrase "Freelance for Life" in large, stylish white and pink text on a brown background, with decorative curly braces around the word "for".
A collage featuring a statue of Lady Justice, a tunnel with road and landscape, and a quote in a bright yellow speech bubble that reads, 'Rituals are emotional catalysts that energize, inspire and elevate us,' attributed to Michael Norton.

The visual system combines collaged graphics, exquisite corpse–inspired characters, and Rorschach-style icons with a warm, earth-tone palette, evoking a uniquely self-defined path while reflecting Sarah’s personality.

Built to flex, the system adapts across formats while keeping a recognizable voice. This makes it easier for the brand to show up often—and for more people to find their way in.

The system is open to interpretation, shifting in meaning depending on who engages with it, like a museum experience.
