TEAM:   

Montavilla Farmers Market is a year-round market in PDX with rotating local vendors looking to create a visual design system and marketing materials for their winter market season. The challenge is that the market is often less attended during the winter months. Design establishes a sense of place and reinforces the idea of bringing neighbors together over local food. 

Combining Abigail Renola Tjaden’s joyful and whimsical illustration style with my brand systems skills, we created a design approach that could be easily scaled and reused across fliers, yard signs, stickers, and more.

This project increased market visibility. The impactful, legible signage can be seen from afar in window shops, at the movie theater, in the hands of a sticker-collector, etc.

Having this place where people, nature, food, and artfulness coincide is SO vital to our existence and economy—it’s nourishment in many forms.
